Preamble: The Creek is Goose Creek’s running AO. We meet at 0500 on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Today we ran the Burninator.
FNG’s: None, Disclaimer always given anyway.
Weather: Pleasant Enough!
The Thang: Ol’ Redo did some pre test rucking. YHC ran a little warmup mile. At 0500 we met up with the PAX and instructed them of the workout plan. Little did they know that we’d start off with a sub 11 mile, followed by a sub 10 mile, followed by a sub 9 mile, followed by a sub 8 mile, followed by a sub 7 mile. No one knew what was coming this morning. Except those that read my pre-blast which outlined the plan, and those that were aware that we do this every month. In all, roughly 10 out of 11 PAX in attendance knew what was coming.
You see the Creek is nothing if not consistent. These men are hard core. If there’s sleep to be had, they’re not interested. If there’s an excuse to be made, they’ll leave it to the subject matter experts in Excuseland. If we need to reach out to them for a useful excuse we know that they’re available to us. Today though is not that day. It is time to dig deep, time to block and tackle, time to burn up the phone lines. Time to double down. Time to get down to brass tacks. Ladies and gentlemen, today the rubber meets the road.
