Count, Name, Announce, Pledge, Devo Todays Devo was loosely based on Colossians 3:23 “Doing your Best”. While on a recent cruise, it came to my attention how little effort men put into themselves. The ladies walking about had obviously spent plenty of time preparing themselves for the evening, but it seemed that the men put no effort towards the event. They were not “even trying”. I started to lay this across our daily lives; do we really try at work, or do we complain about the boss, working hours, working conditions or pay? Do we really try to parent, or do we just complain about the toddler that can not seem to get it together or the wayward teen in our life? Do we pursue our girlfriends or spouses the way we use to (dinner, dates, fresh clothes, flowers etc) or do we take them for granted. Are you really trying to be a better employee or boss, a better parent, a better friend or a better spouse? ARE YOU EVEN TRYING? Are you doing your best?
