A Wednesday Pretzel-led Q: Better than a kick in the balls. By how much is debatable.
Conditions: Low 70s, humid. C’mon man, it’s October!
- SSH x 2 IC
- Mtn Climber x 15 IC
- Freddie Mercury x 10 IC
- Merkins x 15 IC
Head to the road and run up to the little dead-end road between the pond and the shed where the blocks are stowed. Grab one block, return to road and stow to side. Partner up for the following:
- Partner 1 executes Carolina Dry Docks, partner 2 bear crawls to end of fence (30 yards) and back. Flapjack.
- Partner 1 executes LBCs, partner 2 crab walks to end of fence and back. Flapjack.
- Partner 1 executes squats, partner 2 burpee broad jumps to cones (20 yards) and back (this was a real crowd pleaser). Flapjack.
- Speed Dora: 50 hand-release merkins, 100 V-ups, 150 squats (reduced to 100 squats for time). One partner exercises while the other runs to end of road and back. Shortened run halfway through, again for time.
Fetch blocks and meet the Beast – an unholy melding of cinder block and bricks. It’s big, cumbersome and heavy as a mofo. Each man takes a turn on the Beast doing 10 overhead press (IC) while the rest of the PAX do the following IC x 10:
- Tricep Ext
- Lawnmower (left/right)
- Overhead press
Stow blocks, return to flag for Mary (100s, LBCs)

Devo: Battling your demons and addictions. I had dinner with an old work friend this week who is truly a clinical alcoholic. He has lost his marriage and lost jobs due to that fact. He wants to quit but can’t. Most of us know what it’s like to experience an addiction: alcohol, drugs, food, porn, gambling, etc., etc., etc. Addictions make you feel shame and make you feel alone in the world. Don’t let them, and don’t fight your battles alone.
