Devo: Devo this morning was about first and second Timothy that I just finished up with my DNA group (with Wiper and another fella I keep trying to EH to F3, his resistance is strong). I told Weewoo that I didn’t think anyone would show up, as no one HC’d, and then I would go home and get warm. That was my plan. God’s plan was to have me endure some suffering and then I could share this devo with someone…Funny how my plan fails most times. I talked about enduring suffering and how Paul charges Timothy to endure suffering several times throughout both letters. We go through stuff that causes deep suffering, and while we are deep in it, it sucks. However, once we get to the other side of that suffering, we can make sense of it, or at least get relief. I brought up the example of F3 in that during the middle of the workout (suffering), if I told you at 7 you would fell better, you might not really want to hear that. Another example, our jobs could be causing us suffering, but if we just give up, we may miss the lesson that God was trying to teach us by pressing on and enduring suffering. Sometimes as men, we can be strong, but when we can’t be, we need to focus our eyes on the kingdom that we are promised, and all the suffering that we experienced on this earth will be worth it all.
I thank you Weewoo. I thank you for showing up, holding me accountable, and getting me out of my warm car to get better.
