Every month the men of Seismic gather to run the Hero, the AO’s monthly endurance test, in honor of a hero to one of the PAX. This month, we honored Francesco Staropoli. Here is what Cannoli shared about our hero:
Sicily being a welfare state, it did not have a lot of opportunity for income or prosperity. So my grandfather had to take jobs in different countries and come home once or twice a year to see his family. When he saved enough he sent his wife and three kids to New York to live for six months until he could afford to come over himself. Had it not been for his courage and sacrifice, our family our family would not be what it is today. More often than not people are too afraid to make the leap and can be hindered by fear. He dismissed all that and did not what he wanted, but what he had to do.

Devo: YHC bragged on Floppy after his wife recently posted a very nice commentary about him on FB. Floppy consistently puts his wife and family first, sacrificing for their good. He is a role model for us as husbands and fathers. The book of Ephesians tells us that husbands are to love their wives like Christ loves the church, sacrificing for them. While Floppy isn’t perfect, I see him putting this into practice. Thanks for being an inspiration to us Floppy!
Moleskin: Nineteen PAX showed up and showed out today. Great numbers! It was also great to see some first-timers at the Hero. Props to Cannoli for sharing a hero with us. Also, props to Cannoli, Hospice, and Probie for doing extra Curls for the Girls. While not a part of the workout, they didn’t let this technicality stop them.
