5 blockies + 10 situps +20 heel raises + 30 flutter kicks (4 count with block overhead) + 40 merkins on block and then a lap around tennis court
We had some extra time before Mary so I was planning to do 20 burpees but then I heard the train go by. You know what that means at the ditch -> 11 burpees. However, none of the PAX decided to keep count so I kept count by myself and to teach them a lesson we did 20 burpees like I originally planned (who knows if the lesson was learned…)
Mary:
PAX choice -> 25 LBC’s, 25 freddy mercuries, 15 hillbilly walkers, 20 V-ups, 20 jane fondas
Numberama, Namorama, pledge, prayer requests, prayer
DEVO:
Genesis 50:20
I briefly recapped the story of Joseph -> sold to slavery by his brothers, put in Potiphars house, thrown in jail for fleeing sexual temptation from Potiphars wife, helps baker and cup bearer get out of jail, is forgotten about, finally comes to be 2nd in command and eventually sees his brothers again in Egypt when they come to get food during the famine. all this leads up to Genesis 50:20 where Joseph says “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”
I talked about how there are many times in life when it seems evil is against us and we don’t understand what God’s plan is, what’s going on, how can God work in this situation, it doesn’t make any sense, etc. However, just like in Josephs situation we should trust that God is sovereign and he will work out evil situations for good. I enjoyed the PAX’s comments as Redo and Futurama were able to provide great examples from their life where they saw God come through in situations that looked very discouraging/bleak/hopeless.
