The miserable miles

YHC attended a Peaches-led beatdown at Seismic recently and came away very impressed with some of the new exercises he introduced. They were too good not to share again, so share I did. Some of them, anyway. In new and exciting ways. The 14 knuckleheads who joined me for this sh*tshow seemed very excited, anyway.

Conditions: 60 degrees, overcast. Very wet from last night’s rains.

Mosey to the block pile for one block, then muster at the entrance to the Senior Center parking lot off of Laurel.

Miserable Mile AMRAP:

Begin with 1 mile run (10-minute time hack). Q will determine if there are lollygaggers. Punishment for lollygagging is 10 blockees. PAX begin AMRAP exercises as soon as they complete 1-mile run. Once the six is in, the 4 minutes for the AMRAP begins.

20 curl presses with block, Cusack to the far end of the parking area, 20 uneven merkins on block, Cusack back. Repeato.

Miserable Half-Mile AMRAP:

Same drill as the 1 mile run, but at a 0.5-mile length. AMRAP exercises: 20 sledgehammers (lateral hammers) (10 each side) w/ feet in blocks, Cusack to far end, 20 block sit-ups with overhead press, Cusack back.

Miserable Quarter-Mile AMRAP:

Same drill again, but with a 0.25 mile run around Doty. AMRAP exercises: 20 calf raises on curb with blocks, Cusack to far end, 20 block jumps, Cusack back.

Stow blocks, return to flag for Mary (American Hammers).

Moleskine: I was really impressed with everyone’s effort on the runs today. There was absolutely no lollygagging. Guys were moving fast and getting after it!
