The Thang:
Since it was close to Valentine’s Day, YHC wanted to show the PAX some L-O-V-E so I brought out this Dora workout with some coupons from home. PAX were instructed to grab a block and a battle buddy and mosey over to the bball court, where there were a plethora of coupons lines up to include: a rubber 45lb plate, a bucket with a 60lb bag of sand, a log, two blocks, and a tire.
L-unges 50 each leg
O-OHP 150
V-ups 200
E-verybody’s favorite Curls for the girls-250
While 1 partner started the exercise, the other partner picked which coupon to carry around the tennis court. The tire of course was flipped to the other side of the bball court. Since there was an odd number, YHC jumped on a team of 2. Teams were instructed to help their fellow PAX complete the Dora.
Next up was a game. 1 block per PAX was placed in the middle of the bball court. PAX counted off 1,2 and formed sides. Each side was told to get to their respective ends of the court, and when YHC called start, every one had to do three burpees, then they must grab a block from the middle and bring to their side. The winning team would have the most blocks on their side after 5 minutes of play. To make it even, YHC did three burpees and ran the length of the court to another three burpees while keeping time. One team won decidedly, and the other team lost. No time for trophies.
Finally the test:
2 minutes: pushups
2 minutes: situps
Mary: No time as the BC went two minutes over time
BOM: Numberama, namorama, pledge, prayer requests, prayer
DEVO:
YHC talked about how we should be embracing God and our wives. Talked about how if we don’t lean into our wives and God, it makes it difficult to embrace and engage effectively. Tried to tie it into workout and how if we carry the heavy stuff far from our bodies, it becomes very difficult manage, and seems heavier. Talked about how my insecurity interfered with how I loved my wife early on, and PAX agreed.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
Ephesians 5:28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
