The route. Out and Back on the Sawmill Trail
Note: When YHC arrived, Glitter Pony, What?!, Myrtle and Matlock had already run a 10K. Myrtle stuck around to run some more. Matlock joined us for about 45 seconds and then turned around. Good for them! Many of our participants doubled down today. Peg, Old Flame, Grits, Muscadine, Hospice and Cannoli did the Seismic bootcamp workout then joined us for some miles. Impressive as always!
Myrtle and I ran together. Myrtle has been getting fast lately, but after his 10K I believe he actually ALMOST got tired. Amazing! I’m A-OK with that because maybe I don’t want to run 7:30 pace Myrtle! YHC has been putting in a lot of miles this week, and Myrtle pace is never easy, so when Myrtle hinted at being okay with slowing down YHC obliged! Peg joined us on the way back. Around the end of the trail we ran into the rest of the crew on Richardson Ave and ran in as a very very loose group to finish sort of together. YHC had a chance to talk with Old D for the second time this week. Old D is a smart fellow and suggested that running a crap ton of miles suddenly could lead to possible injuries. Noted! I will sleep tomorrow. But today we must finish the run!
Back at base camp we gathered and announced things like:
The Mud Run
Running For Doug event at Fleet Feet on Monday March 12th. Fleet Feet Summerville. (Free Race entries will be raffled, oh yeah!)
The Oak – April 21st
P200 – If you’re not on a team, it’s too late!
Home of Hope – Tuesday community service volunteer opportunities. Cannoli will be making a post with info.
