Preamble: the Creek is Goose Creek’s running AO. Lately it has also become a GoRuck training day for the upcoming Charleston HTL. Stringbean has a couple of guys coming out regularly for early morning training. The more the merrier. I guess I should have him write half of this backblast. I have no idea what those fellows did, but they showed up for the BOM so I counted them!
FNG’s: None, but the disclaimer was given anyway
COP: Stretch if you arrived early.
The Thang: Split up into two groups 10+ minute mile pace and sub 10 minute mile pace.
Groups must stay together for the old cat and mouse game. 10+ group would leave the AO and immediately head out on the big loop. Sub 10 group would circle the half mile pond then head out on a mission to catch the first group somewhere along the route. I wasn’t sure if we’d make it since I had to stop and empty my shoe of a rock at one point, but we caught the other group with a little less than a mile left on the route. A fun twist on the traditional route. YHC will be exploring some new routes around the AO here soon.
There was no Mary
Pledge/Prayer/Devo. With a large group we had a few prayer requests for folks battling health issues.
Devo by Snowden: On the surprising things that are noticed by your children when you think they’re not paying attention. Are we setting the example that we want to be setting?
Moleskin: T-Claps to my buddy pretzel for making the long drive out. To Urkel for joining up with us in the “cat” group. To Flamingo and Mack for being stalwarts at the Creek and posting regularly for the past several weeks. to Sophia for getting his legs back under him and running his C25K graduation run today. Welcome to the Creek, Suds!
To the ruckers. I’m sure you all rucked fantastically today.
