Is 2nd Base Over or Under?

Intro: YHC’s 2.0, who’s is pretty much a badass, looked at the weinke that YHC was working on, and commented, “Is that your workout? I’d be pissed if I showed-up and you told me THAT was the workout!” Too hard maybe? The girl may have a valid point. YHC kept the weinke, but made some modifications during the execution of the workout. 5 men worked hard, laughed and fellowshipped in the process, and left still friends. But the original weinke WILL make an appearance someday.

Warmup: Slow jog to the entrance and back, slow burpee x1

Thang: Grab a block and mosey to the turf field. Each PAX owned a base, where they would shoot odds or evens against YHC to see if we did YHC’s planned exercise, or some boring block exercise of the PAX choosing.

Homeplate: Defib won the shootout, but chose to do Blockees anyway. IC x10.

First base: Fish lost the shootout, so we did Uneven Burpees w/ Curls x10. Do a burpee with one hand on the block, when you stand up, do 3 single-hand curls. Switch sides and repeat.

Second base: Prius lost the shootout – Divebomber Burpees x10.

Third base: Suds won the shootout and chose merkins, which YHC modified to be Alternating Merkins around the circle x20.

Home: Defib won or lost? Anyway, we did Up/Down Burpees x10. Instead of pushups, do Makhtar N’Diayes.

First: Fish lost. We did Candlestick Burpees x11. Roll on your back, do Heels to Heaven, rock forward into a burpee.

Second: Prius won. Squats on blocks x25.

Third: Suds lost. Gorilla Shuffle Burpees to homeplate.

Home: Times up. Mosey back to the flag.

Stow blocks.

Numberama, Namerama, Pledge, Announcements, Prayer Requests:

Devo: “True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.” Proverbs 22:4.

We discussed the meaning of “humility”, “fear of the Lord”, and what “riches” await a Godly man. So far, God has not blessed me with the winning Powerball #’s, but he has blessed me with a winning, positive attitude. Defib added that when bad things happen, instead of asking, “why did this happen to me?”, ask “WHAT does God want me to learn from this?”. Turning the “why” into “what” is a rich attitude. Fish added a saying that he inherited from his dad – ” ‘If’ gets in the way. If not for if, you’d have a good day.” Fish, I am confident that I screwed-up that quote.

Moleskin: Rounding the ballfield predictably led to clarification of what “reaching 1st base, 2nd base, and 3rd base” constituted. There was no clarification needed about “sliding home”. Work doesn’t seem like work when you are laughing the whole time.
