Preamble: the Creek is Goose Creek’s running AO. We meet at 0500 on Mondays and Wednesdays. The route varies, as does the temperature.
FNG’s: One! Jacob Stradcutter, henceforth known as Bossbaby.
Weather: Warm. I thought we might see some relief today. While it was not oppressively hot, it was still hot enough.
The Thang: Gather up the PAX and complete a warmup lap around the pond. Then complete the 3.83 mile loop. YHC asked everyone if they were capable of running 3.8 miles in 45 minutes. No one said no. I forgot that adding the extra lap made it 4.33 miles. Bad Q. That complicated things. Nonetheless our group all finished roughly on time.
Highlights:
Schneider brought his son out. Good to see the F3 brothership and fellowhood shared with the next generation.
Floppy drove out from Summerville and I enjoyed running with my Tremor buddy and counterpart.
Training Wheels ran with us. We learned about massive bicycles.
Urkel brought us an FNG.
GRU did not technically commit to Q’ing Wednesday.
Mack named our FNG!
Everyone completed a strong run this morning. Great work.
Announcements: P200 signup is available. Gauging interest in an all Goose Creek (or maybe Berkeley County) team.
Pledge/Prayer/Devo. YHC has found himself going through the motions at times lately and realized at times that he would get five minutes into a task or conversation and completely lose track of what he had said. I have been on autopilot at times. My mind has been elsewhere. I’m being intentional about reducing distractions in life. Whether it be social media or email alerts.
Moleskin: Urkel brought out our FNG, Jacob. Urkel mentioned how Jacob is his boss during Sunday mornings (during church service where Urkel volunteers), but Urkel is his “boss” at their small group. Mack yelled out “Boss Baby”. No one vetoed it. We also didn’t name him “Coach Taylor” even though he’s a high school coach, and he likes Friday Night Lights because that would’ve been too cool.
