Intro: YHC promised a “kinder and gentler” BC in the preblast. Maybe it was the ideal 55° weather, or the easy conversation, but YHC seemed to deliver on his promise. YHC will let the PAX decide. 17 men rolled into Bedrock for some circle fellowship hosted by Usain Bolt.
Disclaimer: No FNG’s. These guys know what they signed-up for.
Warmup: Burpee x1, LBAC’s, squats x10.
Thang: Grab a block and mosey to the ballfield for a Usain Bolt routine. Each man will take turns calling an exercise, then jump rope for 50 revolutions while the PAX perform said exercise.
The exercises included, but were not limited to: merkins, WW1 situps w/ block, curls, squats w/ block, pickle pounders, flutter kicks, iron cross, LBC’s, side straddle hops, etc., etc.
11’s – OHP and merkins.
4×4 team shuttle run with blocks back to the flag.
Numberama, Namerama, Pledge, Announcements, Prayer Requests:
Devo: The earnings of the godly enhance their lives, but evil people squander their money on sin. Proverbs 10:16.
Hard work is good, winning the lottery could be bad. God knows our heart.
Moleskin: YHC doesn’t know, because he’s never done it, but if YHC ran 114 miles three days ago, he wouldn’t be attending a BC anytime soon. T-claps to Old Flame for pushing through the soreness and wrecked feet, and setting the bar even higher. T-claps to the several guys who did a SCS either before or after the BC and those who rucked the BC. 3 years ago, we didn’t have many guys doing SCS’s, much less marathons, triathlon, ultras, Lowcountry Splash, or rucking events. We continue to push each other to bigger and bigger accomplishments. The value of extraordinary physical feats, besides the health benefits, is the mental toughness and sense of accomplishment that goes with it. Suddenly the big project with a short deadline isn’t so daunting. The troubled marriage isn’t so exhausting, and working through it is doable. You carry yourself a little taller with newfound confidence, and the world sees a difference.
