8 men showed up at Tectonic for Christmas themed beat down. YHC signed up the Q before officially going on the DL. Determined and needing a solid beat down, YHC didn’t entertain the thought of giving up the Q. Rather find a way to deliver some solid work while being a little limited. I think we found a way to get some decent work done.

12 Pains of Christmas.

Each exercise labeled from 1-12. Number of exercise also represents number of reps to be performed.

The workout goes in the same fashion as the favorite holiday classic. The 12 Days of Christmas

Each PAX starts with 1 rep of exercise #1, once completed, move to exercise #2, complete #2, then #1, move to exercise #3, then #2, then #1

Continue as time allows or until you reach exercise #12.

Exercise #1 – Merkin ring (1 merkin followed by 3 side plank steps, rinse and repeat until completing 1 ring around the chairs in the seating area, avg of 6-7 merkins per ring)

Exercise #2 – Lunge walk

Exercise #3 – Cross body LBC

Exercise #4 – Pullup

Exercise #5 – Decline hand release merkin

Exercise #6 – Single leg burpee

Exercise #7 – V-up

Exercise #8 – Low country crab

Exercise #9 – Pickle pounder

Exercise #10 – Dips

Great push by the PAX. The Merkin Ring will be an exercise to remember (or forget depending on who’s asking). Highest number achieved by PAX was exercise #9. This set was brutal and guys pushed through for some serious work. Some tried to call it up to “better on paper,” but YHC sees it as achieving the goal. Setting out for some serious work and leaving others never wanting to see certain components of the workout again. Others challenged to attempt again to try and do better next time.
