Conditions: Low 60’s and muggy
In our first Q after Snowden’s departure, we had a bit of an identity crisis at The Creek. Are we a running AO or are we a rucking AO? It seems the PAX couldn’t decide this morning so half of us rucked and half of us ran.
We all ran the figure 8 around the pond and building due to potential weather issues.
Doctor Octopus chose to run in pursuit of 2019 miles in 2019.
Goober chose to run continuing to focus on his prep for the Kiawah Half Marathon. A big goal for Goober who came out last year with a goal of running 2 miles.
Metermaid chose to run as he continues to rehab an ankle he sprained at work late last year.
With the upcoming GoRuck Integrated Tough Light event in February, some of the Creek guys have chosen to get some miles in under the packs. That leaves Olaf, Discount and YHC in this category.
We rucked the figure 8 at a much slower pace than the runners. But we also alternated with 15 push-ups and 20 squats at each half-mile. Discount decided to bless us with a sand bag believed to be around 35 pounds. We alternated between a partnered farmer carry and a shoulder carry randomly as we rucked.

Devo: It’s a new year and with that come new goals and new challenges. I know we have quite a few at The Creek this year (some mentioned above). While it’s important for us to set goals and challenge ourselves physically, it’s also important for us to set goals to grow and challenge ourselves spiritually. I know there are some guys doing a Bible reading challenge this year. Other people choose a word for the year and use that as a focal point to grow each year.
Whatever it looks like for you, set some goals for yourself spiritually this year in addition to all of our physical goals. There’s always room for growth spiritually.
Moleskin: Remember last year when we were running in the snow this time of year? Yeah, it’s hard to remember that when it’s in the mid-60’s now.
