Devo: From Exodus 13 we learn that God did not guide the Israelites on a direct route to Canaan. The Bible tells us that the direct route would have led them to war with the Philistines and God knew this would break the spirits and they would want to return to Egypt.
Two things:
- Recognize God is sovereign and knows the best path for us He will look out for us and guide us on the path we need.
- The Israelites still had a slave mindset. They would easily return to the “security” offered in Egypt for the safety they perceived to exist there. However, God was calling them to something greater. We are in a battle with our sinful nature, constantly beckoning us to return to old habits or lifestyles that make us feel comfortable even though God is calling us to greater things. Fight the urge to go backwards, and lean into the journey God is calling you on.
Moleskin: Great workout by the PAX today. In honor of Probie’s request, Terrible Ts did not make an appearance. Burpees, however were on the menu and they were plentiful.
