DEVO – YHC probably speaks about this topic as much as anyone in our group; making time for your M, 2.0s and extended family. What does your calendar say is important to you? Training for an event? Mens night out? Hobbies that don’t involve the family? Career enhancement? Look at your calendar, where is the dedicated time to your M, your 2.0s and your extended family? YHC seems to preach this every few months. Last night as YHC was headed to bed, the M was watching television on the couch. YHC stopped by and we had a small chat about her day which included a routine doctors visit. Apparently YHC came up during their discussion. “I don’t really see him, he goes to bed early, gets up early, travels and spends a lot of time doing assignments while pursuing his Masters Degree”. Her words hit me like a TON OF BRICKS! My M was not complaining nor was she trying to prod me to do something with her, she was simply recapping her day. FAIL! YHC quickly realized that he was not “walking the walk” and his M of 31 years deserves better. Rest assured we now have a night downtown planned as well as a weekend camping trip for just the two of us (both of these were things she chose to do once asked). Whether it is your M, your 2.0s, your parents or your extended family, MAKE A PLAN TO DEDICATE TIME TO THEM. Yeah… spontaneity, BS, that is not how we train for events or approach other things we deem important. Why is your family different? Check your calendars men!

The temperature was 32 with a breeze that made it feel cooler.
COP – Body Builder Battle – OYO, each Pax conducts 5 BB within one minute, time remaining upon completion is rest time. Alarm sounds, now do six, then seven until can no longer properly execute required number of BB in allowed one minute. Lined up, tallest to shortest Pax and moved to vehicle. Introduction to logs; starting position, waist position, chest position and right shoulder position.
THANG – String of Pearls carrying the logs. Run with log, stop; overhead press x 10, curls x 10, Sit-ups with log x 10. Remaining men not on alog conduct exercises as determined by Q. Rinse and repeat until time was up. Logs were rotated among the teams to ensure everyone got to experience the heavier logs, even if only for a short time. Return logs to back of truck.

MARY – N/A
Count, Name, Announce, Pledge, Pray, Devo
Moleskin – YHC had committed himself to never Q logs again. Just seems to cause soreness in a bad way as opposed to the “good sore”. Wanting to do something different, YHC went against his better judgement and did logs. As for the Body Builders, it was cold and that seemed like a good way to warm up at the time. Most Pax bailed at around ten Body Builders, but Respectful Bob The Builder held out a little longer. The re-introduction of the logs brings a new level of pain back to the AO and forces the Pax to embrace teamwork which those in attendance today did. Having a coupon continuously supported by the members of the log team for the duration of the beat down brings about a sense of camaraderie, not associated with a normal BC. AWESOME work men. BTW, YHC has now committed to NEVER do logs again in freezing temperatures; BRUTAL!
