Moleskin: Recently, YHC rolled-up on a project site that looked pretty much like it did the last time YHC visited the jobsite. The project manager explained that it had rained a lot in the past month, hindering progress. When YHC asked, “What’s your action plan to keep moving forward?”, the PM answered, “We are going to hope it stops raining and wait for it to dry out.” This did NOT sit well with YHC, as you might imagine. “Hope and wait are not a plan of action! In fact, hope and wait aren’t even action verbs. Think about it for a minute, then give me an action plan that involves ACTION verbs.”
In our jobs, our marriages, situations with our kids, etc, there are always things that we can actively DO to help achieve the result we want. While patience is a virtue, God also helps those who help themselves. Make sure your problem-solving and action plans include ACTION verbs.
