Free Outdoor Morning Workouts To Build Community Leaders

4 men joined and headed toward the flag only to realize there was another shadow standing (and waiting) for the fun to commence. Little to the inclination of the PAX, YHC really hadn’t been able to formulate any real “plan” for the morning, except for the call of the first exercise. Q juice and intuition would have to drive the workout and YHC hoped something good would come out of the mix. Knowing the group that had shown up for the morning, it would have to at least come out in some sort of “organized” fashion or the mumblechatter would likely take over the morning.

Devo: YHC spoke briefly about the power of delegation and how effectiveness can rise with delegation. YHC did not plan a devo in advance, but comments during BC led us to the devo this morning.

Moleskin: YHC loves the Dealer’s Choice workout for many different reasons and encourages each AO to embrace the concept. From veteran Q’s to VQ, everyone wants to bring the heat and 5 mins never takes so long to pass during a workout. T-Claps to all Q’s this morning. Solid work was done and everyone was ready to be finished with this one.

8 men showed up at Tectonic for Christmas themed beat down. YHC signed up the Q before officially going on the DL. Determined and needing a solid beat down, YHC didn’t entertain the thought of giving up the Q. Rather find a way to deliver some solid work while being a little limited. I think we found a way to get some decent work done.

Moleskin

Great push by the PAX. The Merkin Ring will be an exercise to remember (or forget depending on who’s asking). Highest number achieved by PAX was exercise #9. This set was brutal and guys pushed through for some serious work. Some tried to call it up to “better on paper,” but YHC sees it as achieving the goal. Setting out for some serious work and leaving others never wanting to see certain components of the workout again. Others challenged to attempt again to try and do better next time.

A Warm & Moist Creamer….What more could you ask for?

  • When: 20180720
  • QIC: Hot Tub
  • The PAX: Too Much, Snowden, Wee Woo, Professor Klump, Repo, Hot Tub, Myrtle (Coffee only, but highly valuable to 2ndF)

2018-07-20 by Hot Tub Leave a Comment

5 Runners + 1 Rucker + 1 Conversationalist showed up at The Creamer this morning for a warm and moist journey.

Miles were had, this is a given, but what’s always unpredictable is the conversation to be had over coffee at The Creamer. Afterall, this is part of what sets The Creamer apart from any other AO I’ve posted at within many different areas of F3 Nation.

We all came with different agendas this morning….

For YHC, that agenda was mainly checking a box on the July Running Challenge Bingo Board. Little did I prepare for to end up being faced with the conundrum of which box to use this morning for (“Run in the Rain” or “Q a Running Workout”). Decisions, decisions.

Wee Woo made it very clear that Snowden was at fault for his posting, especially when rumblings started trickling out as Snowden came around the corner “comin in HOT,” just in time to throw headlamp on and lead the PAX out onto the road.

Repo was clearly holding himself accountable to post as much as possible before going on the “new baby excuse train” for what is a yet to be determined amount of time.

Professor Klump was doing Professor Klump things. Running before others and trying to convince us all to join him for another run after The Creamer instead of going to work. The botanist’s persuasion tactics did not lead to any takers pursuing this option.

Too Much was staying consistent with putting good quality miles in, this time on foot, as the bike may have led to a treacherous, more eventful morning.

As everyone settles in for coffee and conversation, then comes Myrtle, in a khaki version of his highly popular running shorts. The conversation takes off immediately and for much of you probably should have just been there instead of making some lame excuse not to be. Key themes from the morning were “Don’t Sell Yourself Short” and “why do we keep drifting away from the billboard discussion.” Image included to help gain some perspective (Myrtle, we all expect collective royalties for any usage of these slogans or materials due to our direct input….)

Then the PAX dispersed to their daily lives with only the found chuckling memories of conversations and good times at The Creamer……

Until the next one…

Moleskin

Great push this morning by attending PAX. This workout involved high work rate w/ very minimal recovery time. Especially when enforced by a watch going off for each transition. After almost 5 years of attending and Q’ing F3 workouts, it can actually be tough to come up with workouts from time to time. YHC pulled this workout out of the depths of previously Q’d work. Nice and terrible all in one to re-visit this one.

5 Men showed up in the gloom for the Memorial Day beat down at Tectonic. A morning where it would have been much easier to just roll over in bed, make an excuse about the conditions and claim “I aint workin out in that crap” These men made the decision to do the harder thing and post for a tough workout (promised ahead of time to be an extra 15 minutes) while honoring those that have served for our country.

Conditions: Monsoon that happened to let up on us a little during the middle of the workout. HUMID

Disclaimer

Secondary Disclaimer: probably adjusting Q on the fly a little, bare with me.

COT

Intro with a more comical remembrance of a favorite veteran with reference to Forrest Gump

Lieutenant Dan series 1-10 (1 squat, 1 lunge ea leg. +1 each round until doing 10 ea)

Mosey to well-known Tectonic Triangle

Intro to meaning of choosing this area for the morning. During the suffering of Lt. Dan series, YHC was frantically trying to wrap my head around how to adjust from initial plan. Focusing on the purpose of the morning and Holiday helped me out. When a soldier is laid to rest, many times, the only item left for the family to remember them by is a traditionally folded American Flag honoring their service to their country. This triangle is the closest we can get to that honor this morning, so we’ll spend the rest of our time honoring the folded flag given in memory of a soldier.

Modified Murph (intro to “Murph” workout background)

Run across to stop sign, 10 Burpees

Run down to tip of triangle, 20 Merkins

Run back to starting point, 30 Squats

Plank / recover for the 6

5 count for recover (3 10 count recovers after lap 5 completed) Devo mixed in during one of recovers “All gave some, some gave all” push yourself, let’s go

x 10

Recover to flag

Pledge (in tight together)

COT / BOM

Extended devo: Remember that it’s not just the soldier who sacrificed for our country. Remember the families affected as well.
