The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.

Conditions: Warm and Humid

FNGs: Eeyore

COP:  Don Quioxte X 15; Through the Tunnel X 15; LBAC OYO

The Thang:

With the regularly scheduled train through Goose Creek comes the need for many Burpees.  PAX started out with the Railroad Ties where the PAX split in two separate lines.  PAX all low plank approximately 3 feet from the next person.  Last person jumps over planking teammates until they reach the front of the line.  As soon as each PAX is jumped over, they must push up and continue jumping over the next person.  This train continued until the first team crossed the finish line.

Next, the PAX went to the coupon pile to obtain a block to begin the Indian Run on the Tour of Goose Creek, or at least a 2 mile loop.  ONn the way to the trail, we heard a train, so in true Ditch fashion, the PAX completed 11 Burpees on Q.

Next, The Indian run.  YHC started at the front of the line.  Each time YHC came to the front of the line, the PAX stopped for a new exercise.  The exercises where the following (one set at each stop):

  • Squats w/Block X 5
  • Leg Thrust X 10
  • Merkins X 15
  • Bobby Hurley X 20

After the first round of exercises, the PAX had reached Publix and the PAX then realized that we just completed a Deconstructed Burpee.  The natural next exercise was more Burpees (10 in fact).  The PAX then made the return trek back to the Ditch to continue with the Deconstructed Burpee.

Mary: Unfortunately, we ran out of time.

Pledge and COT

Announcements: Freedom Church is in the planning phase of the Fall Men’s Hike and all are encouraged to attend.  Stringbean recognized our AOQ Redo for his help during the recent HTL Go Ruck event.

Devo:

6 Reasons to Pray

1. So we’ll live lives worthy of the Lord – v.10.
(Matthew 10:37-39).

2. So we’ll please Jesus in every way – v.10.
(Ephesians 5:8-17).

3. So we’ll bear fruit in every good work – v.10.
(Ephesians 2:10).

4. So we’ll grow in knowledge of God – v.10.
(Jeremiah 9:23-24; Proverbs 9:9).

5. So we’ll be strengthened with God’s power – v.11.
(2 Corinthians 12:9).

6. So we’ll have endurance, patience, and thankfulness – v.11-12.
(Romans 5:3-5).

And why do we want to pray for these?
Because God “has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” (Colossians 1:13)

Moleskin:   This was YHC first time to Q at the ditch.  YHC may have overestimated the intensity of the workout, but all PAX were able to complete.

We welcomed Ahdan Hassan as an FNG by way of Mack.  Ahdan did not want to offer much information about himself other than to say he hated negativity, so the consensus was he must now be known as Eeyore.

Conditions: 62 degrees and beautiful

FNGs: 2 (Olaf and Code Brown), Disclaimer given

COP:  Sallie with ‘Mericans, Big Boy Situps, High/low Planks, and Squats (Change at start of each new verse), 3 man block pass with burpees 10 reps per man x 2 sets (clockwise and counter clockwise)

The Thang: The PAX was given the opportunity to vote on their preference of ladies albeit some questionable (Cindy Crawford, Sally Fields, Dora the explorer, PATrick the Starfish). Very little detail was given on what the vote was for, though some did catch on. Other brothers were also encouraged to vote for which painful act would be delegated despite their absence. The PAX then made their way down to the park for a modified Cindy WOD. Traditionally Cindy is 5 Pull Ups, 10 ‘Mericans, and 15 Squats AMRAP in 20 minutes, however, since Cindy is getting older it was dictated that LBCs would be utilized at 20 reps in addition to help keep things tight. Many rounds were completed by all and the PAX made its way back to the AO in quick fashion to name the two FNGs.

Mary: No time

Announcements: Freedom Church Men’s Hike August 12 at 6:00pm on Cypress Garden Rd, Non Affiliated BC workout at the Redbank Fire Station tonight at 6:00 pm, P200 Registration is now open and attempting to gather a Goose Creek Team

Devo: Stations were given to 4 men at a time and the PAX was informed to complete the WOD as fast as possible. This meant they could surpass their group and work in with the next group. Some men fell behind, some men advanced well ahead of others, while still most fell in the middle. An observation was made that the men in the lead were encouraging to those that were a step behind them and pushing those in the group ahead positively. Those being lapped were doing their best to stay up while the middle of the pack found a way to work in sequence to motivate each other. Ultimately the workout was beneficial to all and finished in due time. The moral of the WOD was that in life you will be ahead of some, behind others, and find yourself amongst the pack. You don’t have to lead from the front but from where you are currently, to encourage those behind you, and look to those ahead of you for encouragement. The Q gave his testimony of having an immature idea of friendship and brotherhood based on his experiences as a child, realizing he gets to be with his best friend daily (the M).  He encouraged his PAX to fight for each other, pray for each other and to check in with one another.

Moleskin:  Olaf received his name due to being from Maine with the only thing to do was snow skiing. Other suggested names included moguls, bunny slope, and ski bunny. Code Brown didn’t give himself much of a chance stating his occupation as a trauma nurse.

Mary: No Time

BOM: Numberama, namorama, pledge, prayer requests, prayer

Devo:

YHC talked about what F3 has meant to him. YHC continued to talk to PAX that are ready to step up and Q. There appears to be at least 2-3 if not more that are ready to step up and Q. There has been so much that has happened because of F3 that YHC has accomplished. YHC thanked the PAX for continuing to show up and push each other. As it has been a year since YHC has been involved with F3, it’s meant so much more than just a workout. Friendships have been formed, the suck has been shared, and YHC continues to make the workouts just too hard! Never a thought in YHC’s mind to lead…But God has His plan

Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifice are pleasing to God.

Moleskin: Named the FNG Crabby Patty because he is allergic to shellfish and is no longer on submarines. We were going to go with Pikachu, as he said he hated Anime, other names YHC heard: Bean town, big papi, green monster (he’s from NY), crawfish. Welcome Crabby Patty
