White As Snow

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the LORD . “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool. (NLT) ( Isaiah 1:18 )

As you read this scripture, let God’s forgiving nature envelop you.  It is by His grace, He pursues and saves us.  What a mercy filled gift! Have you accepted God’s offer to wash you white as snow?

Moleskin:   This may not be exactly what was done.  I have a bad habit of not writing down my workouts at any point.  I failed to get my backblast done due to the website going down.  By the time I figure out how to log in and do the back blast the memory of the workout was a tad fuzzy.  This is close though.  I remember City Slicker was there because this is the first BC he has attended in 3 years.

The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.

Conditions: Low 70’s and muggy

FNGs: Not today

COP:  15 TTT IC, 15 LBAC IC, 15 LBAC reverse IC, 15 Overhead clap IC, 15 Moraccan night club IC, 15 Hillbillies IC

The Thang:

Run around the farmhouse as quick as you can.  First two finished will be team captains (Cheetah and Sugar Mountain)

Indian Run up to Yemasee St and back.

Get logs from back of YHC truck and place on grass beside the patio facing the road.  Each member of the team will flip the log and run to the sidewalk and to the back of the line.  Line continuously moving.  When at the sidewalk flip it back toward the patio.  After you flip run to the patio and then to the back of the line.  Line continuously moving.

Losing team owes winning team 5 burpees.

Captains get your team and the log to the soccer fields by way of the road ASAP.  Once at the soccer field captains select one man to get the log across the field while the remaining PAX gather blocks.

Relay race with the log.  One man carries the log about half way on the field and then sprints back.  Next man sprints to the log and brings it back.  Rinse and repeat until all team members have gone.  PAX did random exercises called by YHC while each team member flipped the log.  Exercises included:  Curls for the girls, tri cep extensions, over head press and lawn mowers.

Losing team owed winning team 5 burpees.

Relay race to opposite end of soccer field and back.  Losing team owed winning team 5 burpees.  Continued the block exercises with PAX not sprinting.

Slow jog around the soccer field.

20 curls for the girls on Q, 20 tri cep extensions on Q, 20 over head press on Q, 20 lawn mowers on Q each side.

Stow blocks and captains responsible for getting logs back into YHC truck.

Mary: Gather at the playground.  20 WW1 situps and go up the stairs and down the slide.  20 LBC’s and back to the bottom of the stairs.  Rinse and Repeat for 12 minutes.

Moleskin:   Sugar Mountains team got their asses handed to them over and over again.  When selecting teams it would have probably made things a bit more fair if YHC would have explained what we were going to be doing.  However, all the captains knew was there was log work involved.  Sugar picked his team based on strength while Cheetah picked his on speed.  Cheetah prevailed….every time.  Cheetah’s team even felt sorry and joined in on the last set of burpees.  Lastly, the slide @ the Ponds may be the most fun slide in all of Charleston.

Eternal Justice

“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. (NLT) ( Malachi 4:2 )

There are some injustices in this world that won’t be remedied in our lifetimes.  Some hurts won’t come fully undone, while we are in the land of the living. This may feel hopeless but thankfully not all hope is lost! God has an eternal plan that heals every broken heart and provides godly justice for all.  Trust that His eternal plan means healing for all who call Him their God

Sugar Mountain:  Yea Defib was my partner.  When you work out with me see what you look like.

Easy In: Next time we partner up I’m picking Sugar Mountain if it means I can look like Defib.

This one seemed to be more of an upper-body smokefest than I anticipated when drafting it up in the Q Cave. I’m still not sure why. But it was. Whatever the reason, 17 men seemed to be in consensus on that fact at Bedrock on Thursday.

Choose Grace

Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. (NLT) ( Colossians 4:6 )

The words we choose in our everyday conversations tell the most about who we are.  If we choose a harsh tone and unkind words, it’s going to be hard for those around you to see God’s grace at work in your life. When we speak harshly it also makes it hard for those who love you to see you as a cherished child of God. Often resulting in others responding to us with negativity.  This is why it’s so important for us to choose grace in the way we communicate.  Be the one who ends the cycle of negativity in your relationships.  Let your words be a beacon of light to those around you

Moleskin:   YHC saw a workout that Green Bags did @ home where he ran for 90 seconds and stopped and did 10 merkins and 10 squats.  I 100% stole that.  YHC went to Tectonic Monday AM for a Hot Tub Labor Day Q.  I 50% stole the “warm up” from that.  Haven’t done the Thunderstruck routine in a while.  Always fun to work that in.  We are currently 5 hours post workout and I am already sore.  Great work today Gents.

Devo: Be careful with your words.  We can criticize cancel culture for being over-reaching at times, but why is there a need for angry/rude/disrespectful discourse in the first place?  It’s damaging to the person/people you’re directing your words toward, and doesn’t do anything productive for you, except leaving you bitter/angry.

Moleskin: So Sakrete was unable to make this workout…but put the word out that he would show up at 4am to do the Cardiac on his own, and invited people to join him.  So High Stick, Splinter, Mad Dog, and Defib all joined him, and then followed it up at 5am with another round of the Cardiac.  Impressive work by everyone, and especially to the guys that put themselves through the grind of the Cardiac twice in one morning.

No matter the circumstances of our lives, God is faithful to gently call us toward Himself.  Remain faithful to Him and He is always faithful to care for you, even in your darkest hour.

Moleskin:   YHC wanted to mix it up this AM.  The rotating Saturday BC’s are a great opportunity to try some things out.  In the preblast I requested with your HC to tag someone you would be partnered with.  The ones that did HC and the person they EHed showed up as well were paired up.  The remaining were paired up before beginning.  For the second part wanted to turn that competition into teamwork.  Everyone put in work this morning and left better for it.

Don’t Be Afraid

Deuteronomy 31:6

Do you remember when you were a kid waking up paralyzed in fear from that same bad dream?  Fear is something we battle from a young age.  Nonetheless, God charges us to overcome our fears.  He assures us we are not alone.  He will not abandon us!  Be courageous today when that sneaky fear tries to tell you its time to panic.  It’s not true, your God is with you.
