Announcements: Saturday rotating workout is at Tectonic this week.  Return of the Ball of Man at the end of workouts.

Devo: Put the same effort into preparation and execution, no matter the size of the crowd.  If you’re a Q, prepare and execute at a high level, whether you expect 3 or 25 pax at the workout.

Moleskin: A Tabata is always a solid workout, especially in humid conditions.  So I decided on a leg-heavy workout today, and timed it out perfectly to hit all of the exercises I wanted to get done.  A great time as always at Bedrock.

The weather was clear but very muggy with temperatures in the mid 70s.

Warm up, was BACs, TTTs, DQs, and SSH.

The THANG was a hodge-podge of basic F3 exercises. Two rounds of tectonics fitness test exercises in order. (Burpees, Aussie pull-up, WW1 sit ups, squat jumps, Carolina drydock, monkey humper, American hammer, and mountain climber) All exercises were done in repetitions of 12.
We also threw in a few PAX choice exercises & a couple of mosey runs.
Mary consisted of flutter kicks, EXs & O’s, and a protractor before time was called.

MOLESKIN{ The Q was open Monday so YHC picked it up with no particular workout plan in mind. I simply went through many of the exercises in repetitions of 12 to honor 12 men who died during the battle of Sullivans Island in the revolutionary war.

Devo was you cannot drive a car while always looking in the rearview mirror. Therefore, why live your life if you’re always looking backward in regret.

Pledge and COT

Announcements: Charleston Stair climb.  Father’s Day workout is in the works.  Memorial Day Murph.  Follow the page for future updates.

Devo: Gave my testimony again.  Keep pushing gentleman.  This group works.

Moleskin:   The few times I have either Qed or attended a BC @ Accelerator we have met in the grass on the far side of the park near the gazebo.  Well there were kids practicing soccer there.  Would have been difficult to do a BC with them there so we relocated to the grassy area by where the blocks are stored.  My first time Qing 2 workouts in a day.  However, that wasn’t the greatest feat of the day.  Cheetah attended 3 BCs and a liquifaction.  BJDDAL (Bedrock-Jones DD, Accelerator and Liquifaction)  Dude is a stud.  Speaking of studs.  THREES COMPANY HELD PLANK FOR 4 DIFFERENT PLAYINGS OF THUNDERSTRUCK WITHOUT BREAKING PLANK ONCE!  A record that can only be tied.  Great work men.  Always enjoy posting at accelerator just rarely works out with my schedule.  It is a different animal working out in the afternoons.  I’ll take the sun not being out.    Thanks again for playing along gentleman!!

The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.

Conditions: Warm & muggy

FNGs: None

COP: Slaughter Starter (Burpees x20 OYO); TTT x10 IC; Mountain Climbers x15 IC; LBAC forward & backward OYO

The Thang:
-Grab a block and return to the circle
-“Back in Black” – On your six with the block behind your head as an anchor…the AC/DC song ‘Back in Black’ is played.  Through the song, keep legs up at 6 inches, and do an Iron Cross every time the word ‘Back’ is said during the song.  Try and hold as long as possible…if you reach failure, get back into it ASAP.
-Gather near the entrance to the dirt parking lot w/ the blocks and divide into two groups.  One person from Group A does a Farmer’s Carry w/ 2 blocks around the dirt parking lot.  While he’s doing that, the other members of Group A run back and forth from the entrance to the light pole on the right.  Group B does an exercise (the first exercise was curls).  When the person returns from the Farmer’s Carry, a member of Group B then does the Farmer’s Carry and the the two groups switch tasks (Group B runs back & forth, while Group A does curls).  Repeat until each man does the Farmer’s Carry.  But change the exercise after each group has done it once…After curls, it was calf raises, then flutter kicks, then lawnmowers, then squats.
-Howling Monkeys – Circle up and get into monkey humper position…stay in that position as each person takes a turn doing 10 Monkey Humpers IC.
-Stow Blocks

Mary: LBCs x25 IC

Numberama: 10

Namerama: Easy In, Mayhem, Shooter McGavin, Snips, Swinger, Chowdah, Peaches, Fish n Chips, Three’s Company, Waldo

Pledge and COT

Announcements: We need Qs.  Saturday workout is at Bedrock this week, and still need a Q for that.  Memorial Day Murph workout coming up.  And stay tuned for details about Father’s Day workout.

Devo: Saying that the media or politicians or other people are dividing us is a cop-out.  You can tune out that message…only you can decide whether to be divisive with other people.  Other people can’t make you divisive.

Moleskin: May the Fourth is a big day for Star Wars fans like me…but I couldn’t think of a good Star Wars themed workout, but in honor of the new Star Wars series ‘The Bad Batch’ debuting today, I put together a bad batch of exercises…things I don’t typically like to do, and that really have no connection with each other, but that I thought would be challenging.  I think it turned out pretty well.  And with ‘Thunderstruck’ retired, I wanted to give us another good AC/DC song to eventually hate, so I came up with the ‘Back in Black’ challenge, which proved to be difficult, as nobody got through the song keeping their legs up the whole time.  Also, fun fact…despite being about 45 seconds shorter than ‘Thunderstruck’, they say ‘Back’ more often in ‘Back in Black’ than they say ‘Thunder’ in Thunderstruck.

Q Juice spilled at Bedrock

  • When: 20210313
  • QIC: Peaches
  • The PAX: Sakrete, Placebo, Motherboard, Mugsy, Three's Company, Repo, Cheetah, Wakdo, Easy-In,& Mayhem & YHC.

PAX: Sakrete, Placebo, Motherboard, Mugsy, Three’s Company, Repo, Cheetah, Wakdo, Easy-In,& Mayhem & YHC.
Weather was perfect with temperatures in the 50s and a bright clear morning.

Warm up began with TTT, a leg length stretch, SSH, BACs & Don Qs.
The Thang was broken down into several parts. The first involved heavy lifting with blocks. A variety of standard exercises. One included a block weighted sit-up routine with hammer situps and sledgehammer.
The next part was running with a competition race between odd and even numbered men. We then Indian ran to the front of the park.
Once at the park entrance, we did back-&-forth incline Merkins and wall dips. We also did 10 cadence Burpees. Mosey ran back to the blocks where we set up a Merkin conveyor belt.
In order to stretch time, we did a few rinse & repeat exercises before doing Mary. The Mary involved situps, flutter kicks, and the protractor before time was called.

Moleskine, the PAX was fairly quiet with limited mumble chatter, however some camaraderie was built with select jabs.

The Devo came from II Timothy 4:3. It talks about people not putting up with sound doctrine and falling into a trap of teachers who tell them just what they want to hear. I emplored the PAX to discern sound teaching to avoid the slippery slope.

The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.

Conditions: Muggy, but not too hot.

FNGs: None

COP: SSH x25 IC; TTT x10 IC; Mountain Climbers x15 IC; LBAC (forward & backward x12 IC); SSH x25 IC; Mosey around a loop starting at the flag, going past the water fountain and bathrooms, down the sidewalk beside the AO, and then back into the park.

The Thang:
-Partnered up based on age (two youngest were partners, and pair up next two guys in age, all the way to the oldest).
-Did a modified Dora…one partner runs the loop that we ran during the warmup, the other partner does an exercise called by the Q…but we don’t count reps…we just do that exercise until I switch to a new one.
-Exercises were merkins, squats, flutter kicks…each round lasting about 6-8 minutes.
-After the flutter kicks, we circled back up and did SSH x25 IC.
-Partnered up based on birth date.
-Did another set of modified Dora w/ new partners…exercises were burpees, squat jumps, and LBCs.

Mary: Held plank for about a minute…that’s all we had time for.

Announcements: Saturday workouts are the closest thing we have to a convergence right now…so a good turnout is great to see.

Devo: Gave the Bedrock mantra.

Moleskin: I saw that this Q was open, and I had never Q’d outside Bedrock, so I decided to give it a shot.  The AO was a bit chaotic, with FiA having their Olympics and construction blocking off the horseshoe area, but luckily I was able to find a good loop to run to make the modified Dora work.  A good mix of guys from different AOs showed up, and hopefully they got their money’s worth.

NOTE: YHC began treatment for cancer this week with a schedule of 30 rounds of radiation +3 rounds of chemo; thus the theme for the workout…
It was decided that an extra shot of Q Juice into the chemical mix might be an extra boost… it was!!

The weather was mild and dry with temperatures in the mid 60s

3 warmups – BAC x30, DQ x30, SSH x30

THANG: 3 exercises inside 30 – Began 30 squat-thrusts; paused on the 10th one to do 20 merkins; then continued with another pause at 20 to do 30 mountain climbers; finished to 30 squat-thrusts.
Woody led the PAX around the farmhouse while YHC regained composure.
Performed 3 rounds of Ussein Bolt with a twist: whatever exercise was called by the runner, the remaining PAX had to do 30 reps with runner joining in as he returned. (Note of thanks to Cold Cut who took over the last round with a reverse Bolt when YHC had a surprise chemo merlot)

MARY – 30 Xs & Os, 30 mosquito crunches

Moleskin: A special thank you to Woody and Cold Cut for picking up the Q when YHC fell out due to illness… Everyone worked extra hard and were very supportive during the struggles

Devo – YHC related a story where Picasso’s health situation directly led to a physical that found Peaches’ cancer early. The message is to get your physical and stay healthy before problems develop.
